Inspired by Jean Cocteau’s 1946 film “La Belle et la bete”, Mondrian in SoHo evokes a provocative fantasy that translates to every detail of the guest rooms. Benjamin Noriega-Ortiz creates a seductive experience that begins from the Crosby Street entrance of the hotel and continues throughout to the “Sleeping Chambers”. The corridors leading to the rooms feature a grand carpet with a custom, rose vine design, large antique mirrors and crystal sconces. Upon opening the door to the guestroom you will find yourself in an elegant foyer-entrance with rich marble floors, leading to the bright, loft-like space. Relax in your “Sleeping Chamber” or lounge in the parlor complete with plush couch, chairs, chrome desk and spectacular views. A private balcony enchants those not satiated by floor-to-ceiling windows.
